“It was at Garbatella, in the young and vibrating heart of the Ostiense neighborhood, where I found the perfect place for my stay in Rome. Hidden by a large loquat, the industrial building's mezzanine was characterized by the black metal door that opened onto an empty space lit by large windows of black slender iron structures framing small panes of glass which filtered a dazzling light. Few interventions were needed to restore the space to its original condition: a simple concrete box with the floor finished in black resin. A place to work and live in peace, accompanied by the rattling of the nearby station.”
